What You Focus On, You Feed

What You Focus On, You Feed

Lately, I have been thinking a lot about how we create things. I have been dealing with a number of clients who seem to be stuck in some old and significantly damaging patterns.

As I was contemplating this, I started a conversation with a good friend of mine. He is rebuilding his life as a result of some catastrophic circumstances seemingly beyond his control or influence. He turned me onto a book that was written in 1910. It was the forerunner to all of the prosperity teachers for the last hundred years.

As I, with great curiosity, begin to explore the writings, I realized that whether you are manifesting money—which is what this book is about—or manifesting good health, well being, a pain-free life, etcetera, the principles of manifestation are the same.

What it boils down to is: What you focus on, you feed!

The Power of Thought

One of the statements in this book is as follows:

Thought is the only power that can produce tangible riches from the Formless Substance. The substance from which all things are made is a substance which thinks, and a thought of form in this substance produces the form as indicated by the thought.

This really got me curious, so I began to bring more awareness to the thoughts that I have throughout the day. What I found is that I rarely focus on a single thought for a significant duration of time. My mind bounces all over the place! So I began an experiment to spend time each day focusing on a particular issue. What I am finding is as I focus for 30 minutes a day on the thing that I desire to create, I’m noticing that circumstances in my life are beginning to reflect the creation of the very thing on which I’ve focused my thought. It has only been a week or so, but I have seen significant results.

I am kind of surprised, because much of what I am working with now are things I learned a decade ago and ended up shelving them, thinking they were “old school” and no longer valid. What I am finding now is that the simplicity of the focused thought means the foundation will never become outdated or expired.

Steps for You to Take

Here are a few basic tips for you to experiment with:

  1. Think of something you would like to create. It must be something very specific and something that you strongly desire. You see, when thought is specific and fueled by feeling, this is the power of creation!
  2. Spend 15 minutes per day delving deeply into reality as if you had already created the thought you are focusing on. Engage the senses and your feelings; really be there!
  3. Bring your awareness throughout the day to this thought, and see if you notice circumstances in your life adjusting as though preparing you to have this creation. The simple fact that you are bringing your awareness to this thought throughout the day indicates additional fuel to assist in its creation. As you become aware of circumstances maneuvering on your behalf, express gratitude. Gratitude is like gasoline poured onto a fire! It is a very powerful fuel for creation.
  4. Do what you can each day through your actions to support the creation of your thought.

Now sit back and watch it happen! These four simple steps are all you need to do to radically change your life. Remember, all of your speech, thoughts, and intentions should be positive and proactive towards your creation. This will eliminate self-sabotage.

Have a blast creating new things in your life, feeling happy, healthy, and fulfilled!

Let me know how it works for you!
