Change Is Inevitable – Progress Is Not

Change vs Progress – Change Is Inevitable

I hear people all the time talking about how they are going to change!!! Especially around the end of the year. December is like a broken record…”This will be the year it happens!” I know I have made this resolution before, but this time I will lose the weight!” …or stop a bad habit… or or or. Don’t you get tired of it? Isn’t it discouraging to have spent a year and made little or no progress towards what you really care about? Change Is Inevitable

It is for me! I’ve been there many times. To overcome this pattern and move towards your desired outcome you need to first understand the difference between change and progress.

Change happens no matter what you do. Your age, your hair greys, situations come in and out of your life all the time that change the way you think, the way you look, and the way you feel. But if you are not directing the change….where will you end up?

Progress on the other hand is what feeds your soul and makes life worth living. Progress is moving towards your intended outcome and builds feelings of value! Progress is motivating energy and is unrestricted in its ability to provide what you need to produce your desired results.

Three Steps To Progress

To shift from change to progress requires three simple steps. Follow the steps I layout for you and you will certainly step off the hamster wheel of change and enter the exciting and satisfying world of PROGRESS!

  • Step 1 – Create a vision

The question to ask yourself is, “What am I going to create?” Now, what do you kind of think about from time to time, BUT What ROCKS YOUR WORLD THAT YOU WILL NOT LIVE WITHOUT! In other words, What MUST you create! For the progressing person, it is not ok to casually ponder should’s or ‘sposito’s. Progress people have a clear and detailed vision of what they want and a MAP of how to get it. A MAP is a Massive Action Plan!! as a matter of fact to ensure progress you might have a plan B, C, D, and even E. This ensures you have your bases covered and also feeds your psyche the message that you are serious! This activates a multitude of helpful energy!
Your vision must be compelling and must be built on what you MUST do. “Should do” things are not powerful enough to sustain hardships or setbacks. What Must You Create?

  • Step 2 – Have Strong Enough Reasons

Will power will not last. Period! You must have enough compelling reasons to create your vision that you will never give up. The WHY you are creating your vision is the fuel that will propel you through any obstacle! There is no obstacle that can sustain the power of a compelling reason!

  • Step 3 – Review and Feel It Real Every Day!

Be obsessed with your vision. Progress is 80% psychology and 20% mechanics. The more you imprint your vision the more you will align with it. The brain is a Reticular Activating System. Like a heat-seeking missile, it zeros in on its programmed target and hits it every time! Even better, If the target moves, so do the missile!!

Who You Believe You Are

You will always follow up on who you believe you are. This is a very important question and it is not answered by your mind and reasoning, it is answered by your life condition. Look at your life and you will see who you believe you are. Don’t panic if what you see scares the crap out of you!! Ask yourself this…Who do I want to believe I am? Look for a role model that you can see reflecting the greatness you desire to be. Study them, talk to them if you can. How did they get where they are? Use this information to support the three steps to progress.

All your actions are consistent with who you believe you are.
